Art & Design
Children explore different materials, processes, techniques and cultures, alongside the work of artists, architects and designers throughout history. Our walls and halls are bursting with the children's artwork to delight and inspire our pupils, staff and visitors. We believe Art and Design give our children the power of expression, self-awareness, confidence and respect for themselves, others and the world around them. The skills and personal values these subjects nurture in our pupils sit in support of the academic abilities they are developing across the curriculum. Intuition, creativity and sensibility combine with practicality and dexterity to produce well-rounded and well-adjusted children.
Pupils in KS1 use paper of different sizes to create and explore their work to different scales, while KS2 pupils have a large sketchbook for experimentation and practising key skills to create pieces of Art and Design work.
