GCSE Student Spotlight We caught up with some of our Class of 2026 to celebrate their GCSE results, learn about the Co-Curricular and Enrichment Activities that helped to balance their studies and find out what exciting opportunities lie ahead. A brilliant achievement for the Class of 2026, with outstanding results across A Level and BTEC. 48% A*-A or Distinction*-Distinction 81% A*-B or Distinction*-Merit 90% of BTEC grades at Distinction* or Distinction 100% pass rate across all A Level and BTEC courses 94% of students heading to university secured their first-choice destination At the very top end, one in seven leavers achieved straight A* or A grades, with six students securing a clean sweep of A*s. What a day for the Class of 2026! Today we're celebrating Lingfield College's best-ever A Level and BTEC exam results – and an incredible group of young people who have worked so hard to get here. 48% of grades were awarded A*-A or D*-D, 81% at A*-B or D*-M, and students achieved a 100% pass rate across all A Level and BTEC courses. And there's plenty to celebrate about what comes next. 94% of students heading to university secured their first-choice destination, including places at Durham, Exeter, Warwick, Reading and Southampton, while others have secured competitive apprenticeships with EY, Disney, the National Audit Office and Grant Thornton. Head of Sixth Form Alison Folkard said: "This year group has been an absolute pleasure to work with and I'm just so thrilled to see them rewarded in this way." But today is about the people behind those numbers. The hard work, friendships, challenges, opportunities and memories that have shaped their time at Lingfield – and the many different paths opening up ahead. Congratulations, Class of 2026. What an adventure! Last week, 25 of our incredible Year 12 students and three dedicated teachers returned home from an unforgettable volunteering expedition to Tanzaniaand what a journey it has been. From teaching at a Maasai school and helping to build a new football pitch, to visiting traditional bomas and immersing themselves in local culture, every day brought new experiences, new friendships and new perspectives. They hiked to the breathtaking Materuni Waterfall, discovered how coffee is grown and made at a local plantation, learnt some Swahili, took part in traditional drum, dance, arts and crafts sessions, visited a snake park, and even cooked their own authentic Tanzanian meal. Of course, no trip to Tanzania would be complete without an incredible safari in the Ngorongoro Crater, where they were lucky enough to spot four of the Big Fivea memory that will stay with them forever! While the adventures were unforgettable, the greatest impact came from the personal journey. Stepping outside their comfort zones, embracing new cultures, working together, and giving back to the local community helped our students grow in confidence, resilience and compassion. They returned home not only with amazing photographs and stories to tell, but with a greater appreciation of the world, stronger friendships, and memories that will last a lifetime. We couldn't be prouder of the kindness, enthusiasm and positivity they showed throughout the trip.
