Students Tackle Complex Global Issues at Lingfield MUN

Our 7th Annual Lingfield MUN was, once again, an unforgettable experience, filled with spirited discussions, collaboration, and innovative diplomacy. We were delighted to welcome back schools that have supported this event over the past few years, and also to extend a warm welcome to those joining us for the very first time.

ACS Egham, Alleyn’s School, Ardingly College, Bancroft’s, Battle Abbey School, Bishop Thomas Grant, Bullerswood Schools for Girls, Caterham School, Harris Girls’ Academy Bromley, Oriel High School, Reigate Grammar School, St Joseph's College Reading, The London Nautical School, Worth School.

Well done to all delegates who tackled complex global issues with energy and passion, demonstrating the true essence of the MUN spirit.

Keynote Speaker

Josh, Solutions not Sides

We were delighted to welcome Josh from Solutions Not Sides. Josh delivered a powerful and balanced keynote on the Israeli–Palestinian conflict. His central message was that peace is possible when individuals choose empathy over hostility. He shared stories of grassroots peacebuilders who model courage by listening to opposing narratives without abandoning their own truths.

Josh explained the UN’s historical and current role in this complex conflict. From its early involvement in 1947 with the partition plan to decades of monitoring ceasefires and providing humanitarian support, the UN has consistently sought to uphold international law and create space for dialogue. Today, its work focusses on protecting civilians, coordinating humanitarian aid, and amplifying the voices of ordinary people who long for safety and dignity.

He concluded by challenging delegates to embody these principles in their own debates: to listen with humility, speak with empathy, and recognise shared humanity even in disagreement. His words reminded everyone that diplomacy is not about domination but about building bridges of understanding, even when doing so is difficult. We extend our thanks to Josh for delivering such a thought-provoking, powerful message.
