About Us
The Sixth Form at Lingfield creates a supportive bridge for our students between Senior School and their independent lives ahead.
Our Sixth Form Centre offers a vibrant, modern, and dynamic space that is purpose-built to provide a collegiate-style experience within the familiar environment of Lingfield. With a central atrium, 150-seat lecture theatre, specialist teaching rooms, a media suite, barista-style coffee shop, contemporary common room and quiet study areas, the Centre reflects our commitment to giving students greater independence, responsibility, and access to advanced learning facilities.
Academic success in the Sixth Form is underpinned by a strong tutorial system and a culture of care. We monitor students closely, supporting their personal wellbeing as much as their academic progress. We want our students to do well — and to do that, we must first ensure they are well.
We offer tailored strategies to help each individual manage their workload, overcome challenges and strive for their best. It is a privilege to watch our students grow into articulate, thoughtful and well-educated young adults during their time with us.
Alison Folkard, Head of Sixth Form
Our Sixth Formers are leaders and role models. They play an active role in school life — mentoring younger pupils, leading subject areas, coordinating charity initiatives and volunteering in the wider community. These experiences help shape not only their character but also their confidence and sense of purpose.
We also offer opportunities for students to extend their academic horizons. Initiatives such as the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and our Discursive Writing Competition allow students to challenge themselves intellectually and explore topics they’re passionate about beyond the classroom.
However good their final results are, A Levels and BTECs are no longer enough. To achieve their post-18 plans, students must demonstrate a range of interests, achievements and interpersonal skills. The Sixth Form offers a diversity of experiences that are fun, stimulating and useful and which equips them for the challenges ahead.
We look forward to welcoming you to Sixth Form.
