Senior School Scholarships (11+ and 13+ Entry)
At Lingfield College Senior School, we celebrate ambition, talent and potential. Our Scholarships Programme provides challenge, enrichment and recognition for pupils who demonstrate excellence in their chosen field — both academically and beyond.
Scholarships are available for entry into:
- Year 7 (11+ entry)
- Year 9 (13+ entry)
We welcome applications from both internal and external candidates. Scholarships are offered in Academic, Art, Drama, Music & Sport.
Each Scholar benefits from tailored support, mentoring, and access to opportunities that stretch and inspire them while encouraging them to play a leading role in the school's wider life.
Fee Remission & Assistance
Academic Scholarships carry a fee reduction of up to 20%, while Art, Drama, Music and Sport Scholarships carry a fee reduction of up to 10%. Awards of up to 10% may also be made. If they meet the criteria, scholars are also eligible to apply for Means-Tested Financial Assistance.

Apply for an Academic Scholarship
Academic Scholarships are awarded to pupils who demonstrate strong all-round academic ability, intellectual curiosity and a positive approach to learning. Successful applicants show solid academic foundations, independent thinking, and a willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school.
We welcome applications for:
- Year 7 (11+ entry)
- Year 9 (13+ entry)
- From both internal and external candidates.
Eligibility Criteria
- Strong performance across English, Maths and Science
- Evidence of active learning, critical thinking and academic engagement
- Involvement in wider school life is encouraged

Apply for an Art Scholarship
Available for:
- Entry into Year 7 or Year 9
- Open to both internal and external candidates
Eligibility Criteria:
- A strong foundation of technical ability
- Creativity and originality in approach
- An active interest in exploring a range of materials and techniques
Application Requirements:
- Submit a reference from an Art Teacher, Art Club Leader, Form Teacher or another adult who can speak to the candidate’s artistic strengths, interests and progress
- A portfolio of at least six pieces showing a variety of media
- Attendance at an assessment morning and interview.

Apply for a Drama Scholarship
Available for:
- Entry into Year 7 or Year 9
- Open to both internal and external candidates
Eligibility Criteria:
- Enthusiasm and talent for drama
- Commitment to the subject and willingness to contribute to school productions
- Ability to bring ideas to life — whether on stage or behind the scenes
Application Requirements:
- Submit a Drama CV outlining your experience and achievements
- Take part in an audition and interview (monologue and discussion)

Apply for a Music Scholarship
Available for:
- Entry into Year 7 or Year 9
- Open to both internal and external candidates
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates should demonstrate:
- Strong musical ability and potential
- Commitment to the musical life of the school
- Enthusiasm for performance and ensemble participation
Application Requirements:
- Submit a reference from the candidate’s current music teacher
- Be prepared to:
- Perform two contrasting pieces on their main instrument (or voice)
- Complete sight-reading and aural tests
- Discuss their musical experience and aspirations during an interview with the Director of Music
Suggested minimum standards:
- Year 7 entry: Grade 4+ on primary instrument/voice
- Year 9 entry: Grade 5+ on primary instrument/voice
- Candidates offering a second instrument should show reasonable proficiency.

Apply for a Sports Scholarship
Available for:
- Entry into Year 7 or Year 9
- Open to both internal and external candidates
Eligibility Criteria:
- A high standard of performance in one or more of Lingfield’s key sports:
- Football, Hockey, Netball, Cricket, Rugby
- Representation at club, district, or county level (or equivalent) is desirable
- Coachability, teamwork, and consistent sporting attitude are essential
Application Requirements:
- Complete the online application form
- Provide a reference from a current coach, PE teacher, or team manager
- Attend the Sport Scholarship Assessment Day, where they will be assessed across multiple disciplines
- Participate in an interview with the Head of Sport
