Lingfield College Named Among Top 200 Sporting Schools in the UK

Lingfield has been recognised by School Sports Magazine as one of the Top 200 Sporting Schools in the UK (2025), placing it within the top 4% nationally across both independent and state sectors.

This recognition reflects something we see every day at Lingfield: a sports programme that is both ambitious and inclusive, with pupils taking part at all levels and across a wide range of disciplines.

What sets Lingfield apart is not just performance at the top end, but a culture where every pupil is encouraged to get involved and make progress. Through our Sport for All approach, pupils are supported whether they’re competing in A team fixtures or representing the School more widely, ensuring that sport remains a positive and enjoyable part of school life.

Sport at Lingfield is about more than results. Through regular training, fixtures and lessons, pupils build teamwork, resilience and determination, as well as a lasting confidence in being active and healthy. For those aiming to compete at a higher level, our sports scholarship programme offers tailored coaching, mentoring and performance support.

This national recognition is testament to our students who have represented Lingfield with commitment, determination and tremendous pride both in high-level performance pathways and through our Sport for All programme.

We are immensely proud of all our pupils - those competing nationally, those playing weekly fixtures, and those giving their best every games lesson. I would also like to extend a big thank you to our dedicated coaching staff for their unwavering energy and support throughout the year.

Mr Steve Casey, director of Sport
