Lingfield Prep adds Girl’s Football to the PE Curriculum

Lingfield Prep has taken a big step in embracing the growing interest in girls' football in the UK by introducing it into their Physical Education curriculum.

The decision to add football to the girls' curriculum aims to provide prep pupils with the opportunity to participate in one of the fastest-growing sports in the UK for girls. It will keep pupils active and hopefully enthuse them to join one of the increasing numbers of local community football clubs. The girls also have fantastic role models in the England Ladies' team - The Lionesses.

We are extremely excited to play all our U11 teams in the first girls’ football matches this afternoon. We are confident that it will be a popular addition to our curriculum, and we look forward to seeing the girls develop their skills and passion for the game.

In addition to the pupil benefits of including football in the PE curriculum, we should also hopefully see the benefits to the whole schools' football teams. By starting to play football at an early age, the girls will have more experience and a solid foundation of skills and confidence by the time they move up to the Senior School.
