Year 2 Celebrate India Day with Colour, Culture and Dance

Year 2 pupils and staff enjoyed a special dress-up day to celebrate their own 'India Day'. The school was filled with bright colours as children wore traditional outfits and clothing inspired by India.

Throughout the day, pupils took part in a range of hands-on activities to learn more about Indian culture. They sampled a variety of Indian foods, exploring new flavours and spices. In art sessions, pupils created henna-style pictures, learning about the patterns and meanings behind this traditional art form.

The morning ended on a high note with an Indian dancing workshop, where pupils learnt simple steps and movements and enthusiastically put them all together! India Day was a fun and memorable way for everyone to learn about a different culture together.
