Lingfield College 80th Anniversary

Please enter an introduction for your news story here.

2020 marks the 80th anniversary of the founding of Lingfield College, and in normal times there would have been a tea party for Old Lingfieldians to celebrate with cake and a tour of the School. Sadly, any events had to be cancelled due to Covid.

To celebrate this 80th milestone, two wooden sculptures have been commissioned from Woodland Centre. The Senior School sculpture (pictured) features the names of the four houses on the back of the seat: Bell, Clubb, Yeates and Higgins. Whilst the base contains the elements which represent life at Lingfield College: AcademiaArtMusicSport and Drama. You can also see a hockey stick and our distinctive stripey sports socks hanging over the side!

History

In 1940, the children from Notre Dame School in Faversham were moved to Lingfield. After a few temporary locations, the present site was purchased and the first classes were held in Batnor's Hall. For more history and memories please visit our Alumni pages.
