Students Sample Historical Delights of Rome in Half Term

During the Easter Holidays, the History and Philosophy and Religion departments organised an exciting trip to Rome for Years 10-13. It was an excellent opportunity to visit a unique city with unrivalled historical, religious and cultural influence.
The group visited all the great sights, including the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, the Forum, the Colosseum, the Vatican, and the Liberation Museum, as well as walking tours of the more religious and ancient-focused monuments. This trip was particularly useful for A Level students studying the Mussolini and Hitler unit as well as those considering A Level History in the future.
I had a fantastic time on the Rome trip. It was amazing to get to visit sights such as the Colosseum and the Vatican Museum, which have such a rich historical background. Our guided tours provided us with in-depth information about each location and I found this really helpful for properly understanding the history of each place. We also experienced the delights of authentic gelato and Italian food, which was delicious!
