Lingfield's Co-Curricular programme provides a stimulating, challenging and exciting environment for all students and is intended to enhance their all-round education. These activities are tailored to suit each age group and vary from arts and crafts to sporting and practical activities and have been designed to assist students develop their hobbies, strengths and skills. They also teach the students the necessary skills of how to work on their own using their initiative and also as part of a team.
We have numerous co-curricular clubs on offer, taking place both at lunchtime and after school.
Many students who wish to experience adventure and take up a challenge, seize the opportunity to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme. Students can start with their Bronze Award and progress through to the Gold Award, which teaches vital life skills and adds substance to their CVs. There are numerous expeditions including an annual Sixth Form trip to Morocco.
Students travel abroad on day trips or longer with various departments, further developing their interests and personalities. Recent trips have included our regular Geographical trip, History and Art expeditions, Language excursions, our annual ski trip and numerous sports tours, such as the Football and Hockey to Holland and Cricket and Netball to Barbados.
As part of this vibrant co-curricular programme, we have a termly sign up system where we encourage our pupils to attend at least three lunchtime co-curricular clubs during our extended lunchtimes which are 80 minutes in duration. Pupils can take part in more activities should they wish, and we encourage them to do so where possible. We have over 100 activities to choose from which you can see from the lists above.
