Year 7 Experience The Sights of Normandy

At the beginning of half term, a group of Year 7 students were excited to spend 4 days visiting sights and discovering French culture in Normandy.
Based at the delightful Chateau du Baffy, near Caen, they visited Bayeux Cathedral, the historic Bayeux Tapestry and practised their French conversation while buying local products at the market on their first day. Throughout their stay, they got to try different food and particularly liked the chocolates at the Chocolaterie du Drakkar in Bayeux and the biscuits at the "Fabrique à Biscuits" in Honfleur. On the Sunday, they visited a goats cheese farm, where they got to play with the goats as well as taste some delicious cheese and learn all about the cheese-making process. They then had a guided tour of the Mont St Michel bay and its quicksand before taking a leisurely stroll up the Mont St Michel.
On their last day, they stopped at Honfleur to do a scavenger hunt and had some free time to explore the town before returning home on the ferry.
It was a hugely enjoyable trip for staff and students!
