Year 5 Experience Senior School
Today we welcomed our Year 5 pupils to Senior School to find out 'What it's like at Senior School'. One of the benefits of joining an all-through school is a gentler transition into senior school. A transition event helps familiarise students with the staff and buildings through fun activities.
Pupils were welcomed by Head of Year 7, Mr Loveday, and taken to the dining hall for a delicious senior school lunch. They then commenced an afternoon of exciting sessions in our senior school.
First Class Falconry
There was a fascinating talk by Alan at First Class Falconry, where he shared stories about his beautiful owls, Cody, Molly, and Elmo. They were also joined by Headmaster Mr Bool to watch the display.
The birds of prey were amazing, we saw so many and it was really interesting to learn about them.
Science is Magic
Pupils were welcomed into the science lab, where they took part in an interactive session called 'Science is Magic'.
To start with, they watched Head of Science Mr Grant perform the elephant toothpaste experiment and a fire display. They then made their own chemical reactions with invisible ink and made ice cream from ice and salt to taste.
Science was so cool - we made ice cream!
