Recycled Creations Make Waves at Prep House Fashion Show

Creativity and sustainability took centre stage this term as Lingfield Prep pupils showcased their talents in an “Under the Sea”–themed House fashion show. The event challenged pupils to design and create outfits entirely from recycled and repurposed materials, highlighting both artistic flair and a strong commitment to environmental responsibility.

The runway came alive as confident models brought each imaginative design to life. Everyday waste items including bubble wrap, pegs, egg boxes and fabric scraps were transformed into striking sea-inspired costumes. Stand-out creations ranged from shimmering jellyfish and a detailed coral reef to a turtle, a mermaid, and a memorable shark complete with blood-stained egg-box teeth.

The judges were impressed by the originality, craftsmanship and clear sustainability message behind every entry. The show successfully blended fashion, fun and environmental awareness, encouraging pupils to rethink how discarded materials can be reused creatively.

Following a unanimous decision from the judging panel, St David was crowned the overall winner with 133 points, securing first place. St Patrick finished second with 118 points, closely followed by St George in third place with 109 points.

The event was a resounding success, celebrating creativity, teamwork, and a shared commitment to caring for our planet.
