Lingfield Prep U11s win Silver!

Great performances from U11s wins them the Silver at ISA London South Regional Mixed Hockey tournament

Our U11A Mixed hockey team travelled to Old Cranleighan’s hockey club in Thames Ditton on Friday 3rd March for the ISA London South Mixed Hockey tournament.

This was our first opportunity to play competitive matches as a mixed team and our boys and girls combined extremely well to have a very successful day.

As a result of great performances in the 4 group matches, Lingfield finished top and successfully progressed to the quarter-finals, with 3 wins and a draw.

Weston Green B

5-0

In this next match against Rosemead B, we continued our dominant play and were rewarded with a 3-0 win. This secured our progression into the semi-final against earlier group opponents The Mead. Lingfield controlled this match from start to finish and although we could only manage to convert one of our chances into a goal, it was a comfortable 1-0 win.

We then once again faced Radnor House in the final. This match proved to be a very close and exciting encounter, where we witnessed some extremely skilful play from both schools. Neither side could break the deadlock in normal time, therefore, the tournament was to be decided by penalty shuffles. Again, this was a close contest, with Radnor House scoring their final penalty to win 1-0, after the keepers had saved 4 of the 5 previous attempts.

We are extremely proud of the children’s performances and it was another successful day for Lingfield College Prep.

Huge congratulations to; Leo, Ollie, Seb, Ella, Bear, Esme, Georgia & George.
