Lingfield Prep Pupils Prepare for Academic Scholarship Exams

This week at Prep, we were delighted to welcome Mrs Woolven from the Senior School Maths Department to lead an engaging and challenging session for our Academic Extension Club focused on preparing our students for the upcoming Academic Scholars Exam. 🎓
The children tackled a variety of activities, including multiplying positive and negative numbers, exploring the area, perimeter, and angles of different shapes, and factoring integers. The session concluded with an exciting algebra “Tarzia” game, which put their problem-solving skills to the test. All participants rose to the challenge and left with a clearer understanding of what to expect in the maths assessment. Mrs Woolven was particularly impressed by their focus, perseverance, and impressive mathematical abilities.
Last week, Mrs Hubbard led a session exploring the expectations of the comprehension and extended writing papers, ensuring that students are equally confident in the English components of the exam.
We are confident that our most able students are well-prepared and wish them every success in next week’s exam!
