Lingfield Prep Spreads Joy with Teddy Donations

Last week, pupils at Lingfield Prep added their donations, helping the Christmas 2025 total reach 739 teddies and counting.

Across the last 12 months, the school has processed and distributed 1,179 teddies, working closely with Flying Teds, the volunteer-led organisation that lovingly restores, prepares and transports donated teddies to charities and families in need. Their incredible work ensures each teddy finds the right home, whether locally or across the world.

Next week, the teddies will be delivered to a number of charities and community organisations across the South East and beyond:

Food Bank, East Grinstead

A donation of 300 teddies will support the Food Bank’s referral-only Christmas Room, where hundreds of local families in need can choose a teddy for their children, along with Christmas cake and mince pies.
Around 50 teddies will be set aside to be given as birthday presents throughout 2026.

I Chose Freedom, Surrey

Teddies will be sent to three refuges supporting women and children escaping domestic abuse, allowing mothers to give their children a comforting gift during an incredibly difficult time.

Crawley Open House

The collection will help support residents at this high-support hostel, which provides essential care for people experiencing homelessness and hardship.

Being Neighbourly, East Grinstead

Teddies will be distributed to struggling families, isolated elderly residents and Ukrainian refugees.
Thirty teddy bears will also be included in Christmas shoeboxes for those in greatest need.

White Eagle, London

As the UK’s largest community-based humanitarian aid operation, White Eagle will deliver a portion of Lingfield’s teddies to Kyiv on 4th December. These toys will be gifted to children still living in the city, shared with bereaved families, and placed in underground air-raid shelter nurseries to offer comfort during traumatic times.

Make-A-Wish UK

Any teddies requiring repair or cleaning will be sent for refurbishment before being sold in Selfridges’ pre-loved toy section. All proceeds will support Make-A-Wish UK in granting life-changing wishes for seriously ill children.

This year’s achievements reflect the extraordinary compassion of the Lingfield College community and the partnership with Flying Teds, whose dedication ensures every teddy finds a child who needs comfort, stability and hope this Christmas.
