Lingfield Prep Launches New Wellbeing Programme Lingfield Life

At Lingfield College Prep, we believe that every child deserves to thrive - emotionally, physically, and socially. Our commitment to pupil wellbeing is woven into the fabric of our school culture, and we’ve developed the Lingfield Life program to support our pupils in every aspect of their development.

Lingfield Life is a comprehensive wellbeing initiative designed specifically for children aged 0-11. Through a variety of engaging activities and targeted programs, we aim to equip our pupils with the skills they need to grow into confident, resilient, and well-rounded individuals.

In March, Lingfield College Prep launched Lingfield Life, a refreshed and strategic wellbeing programme designed to help pupils grow happy, healthy and strong.

This exciting new initiative builds on the Prep School well-established foundations in pupil wellbeing. In November 2024, Lingfield Prep was awarded the Silver Mental Health Award by the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools, recognising the school’s commitment to creating a mentally healthy environment and providing high-quality pastoral care.

To build on this success, the school has established a dedicated Wellbeing Committee—a team of pastoral leaders, teaching staff, and emotional health specialists who will shape and deliver a 360-degree approach to well-being across the Prep School.

The Lingfield Life programme combines emotional support, physical health, social connection, and personal development into one cohesive strategy, ensuring that every pupil is supported in every aspect of their development.

New initiatives that have recently started include:

  • Wellbeing Wednesday clubs for all year groups

  • Anti Bullying Ambassador training

  • Healthy Tasting Tables at lunchtimes

  • Morning Move

  • Cookery for KS2

  • The Snug – a calm and welcoming space for ELSA sessions

  • Gardening to connect with nature

  • Rosco Rovers - our wellbeing dog offering walks and cuddles

These carefully curated activities are just the start. They aim to give pupils the tools they need to manage their emotions, build resilience, and grow in confidence—inside and outside of the classroom.

The Head of Lingfield Prep, Mrs Jacky Shackel, said, “Wellbeing sits at the heart of everything we do at Lingfield Prep. The launch of Lingfield Life brings a joined-up, 360-degree approach to supporting our pupils and building a culture of care that runs throughout the school. We want every child to feel happy, confident, and ready to embrace the world with curiosity and courage.”

Lingfield Life is a core part of Lingfield College’s whole-school strategy to promote holistic education, which places pupil well-being at the centre of the learning experience.

One to one ELSA sessions are available for children to help with their emotional resilience.
