Lingfield Celebrates 85th Year at Founders' Day
Today, we proudly celebrated Founders’ Day, marking 85 years of Lingfield College, reflecting on our rich history and the many achievements since our founding in 1940. Our annual Founders’ Day service took place, where we were delighted to welcome Chris Bell, one of four parents who supported the school by forming an Educational Trust under lay management to purchase the establishment when the Sisters left in 1986.
Our school community came together for a moving service led by Father Jack Lusted, Priest at Lingfield Catholic Church, with our Deputy Head Students leading us in the school prayers.
Prep School Chamber Choir and the Senior School Show Choir delivered outstanding performances, enjoyed by the entire school and our governors.
Our History
Notre Dame School was initially founded in 1940 by three School Sisters of Notre Dame who arrived in Lingfield from Faversham with 14 girls, all World War Two evacuees. Read more.
Continuity and Growth
Founders Day concluded with our Head Students presenting a tree to the Prep School, a lasting symbol of continuity, growth, and the spirit of generosity that defines our school community.
