Girls’ Football Wraps Up Year with a High Note

It's been a brilliant year for girls' football at Lingfield. The programme has expanded with teams playing in every age group from U8 to u18.
Notable Achievements this year
U11s second place in the ISFA Football festival.
U12s reached the semi-finals of the Surrey Cup, narrowly losing 2-0 to Kingston Grammar in a closely contested match.
U13s won at the ISA Football tournament without conceding a single goal.
The U14/15 Girls’ team had an exceptional run in the Sisters n Sport National Cup, progressing from a starting field of 80 schools to secure a place in the final four on National Finals Day. The team delivered outstanding performances, finishing third overall after a commanding 4-1 victory over King’s School Warwick. Zohal was named Player of the Match for her superb display. Their incredible season was rightly recognised as they received the Elaine Cox Team of the Year award at the Sports Awards Dinner in June.
This year also marked a significant milestone with the launch of our first-ever U18 team. Their introduction represents an exciting step forward for football at the school, creating new opportunities for senior players to compete and develop.
As we look ahead to next year, we are incredibly excited about our girls' teams' continued growth and potential. I am incredibly proud of the effort, determination, and commitment shown by all our players throughout the year. Their hard work has laid a strong foundation for future success, and I look forward to seeing what they will achieve next.
Leading the football programme this year has been a genuine pleasure, and I feel privileged to work with such a talented and dedicated group of players.
