Founders' Day: A Time to Reflect on Our Heritage and Values

Today we celebrate 86 years of history, heritage and the special community that makes Lingfield College what it is today.

Founded in 1940 by three Sisters of Notre Dame, our story began with just 14 girls evacuated during the Second World War. Today, that legacy continues to bring our community together, from our pupils in the Prep and Senior School, to our staff, governors and wider school family.

The Service

Founders’ Day was marked with a beautiful service, a time to reflect on our journey and celebrate the values, dedication and generosity that have shaped our school over the years.

As part of the service, the Senior School Head Students presented the Prep School with a tree to plant on their grounds.

The celebrations continued with a special afternoon tea for our governors, giving us the opportunity to express our gratitude for their continued support and commitment to Lingfield.

A truly special day celebrating where we began, how far we have come, and the community that connects us all.

The Lingfield Foundation

Today also marks one year since we launched The Lingfield Foundation with a simple but ambitious vision: to open doors of opportunity for exceptional children from lower-income families through transformational bursaries, whilst extending the positive impact of Lingfield College into our wider community through Lingfield Ignite.
