Introducing the Head Student Team for 2026/27

Bella: I have been at Lingfield since year 7 and have seen firsthand the incredible influence it has had on my life, shaping the person I am today. Being able to give back to the school that has become my home for the past 6 years was what really drew me to apply to be Head Student. I hope to be a role model to those in the younger years, as I remember clearly being in that position myself not so long ago, and to demonstrate the cohesive community that you can’t help but be a part of at Lingfield.

Will: I wanted to join the Head Student Team to take a more active role in the school community and help make students’ time at Lingfield as positive as possible. Having been part of the school since year 9, I felt I had a good understanding of what's important to students. I also see the role as an opportunity to challenge myself, particularly through taking on greater responsibility and putting myself in situations where I would need to speak and act confidently on behalf of others.

Natasha: It's a way for me to give back to the school that has given so much to me throughout my time here. I remember being in the younger years and watching the new Head Student Team being announced every year and I never thought that I would one day put myself forward for the role. This shows how Lingfield has shaped me into the person I am today through all the experiences and opportunities I have been offered. I hope to be a role model for the younger students and leave a positive impact on Lingfield once I leave. 

Charlie: I believe it would be a great opportunity to take on more responsibility, represent the school and give something back to the Lingfield community. What particularly interests me is the responsibility and the opportunity to make a positive difference to other students. After being at Lingfield for the past six years, I feel that I understand what makes the school such a welcoming place and I would like to help maintain and build on that environment.

Bella: Lingfield is such a special place to me because of the welcoming, familial environment that draws you in instantly. It is a school that sets its own high standard through its exceptional qualities. The opportunities you gain and lessons you learn extend far beyond just the classroom, providing you with the confidence and safety to evolve into whoever you want to be. It’s an inspiring place where you learn that life has no limitations, and the self-potential you discover is woven into the memories you create and the lifelong community you become a part of.

Will: Ever since I joined Lingfield, I've always felt such a strong sense of support and comfort. The relationship with the teachers is something completely unique and I know I'm not alone in feeling such a strong sense that they truly want you to succeed. With this connection comes comfort; there is always someone to turn to at Lingfield, whether you need support with work or simply want to have a chat.

Natasha: What makes Lingfield so special to me is the strong sense of community. The teachers don’t feel like strangers as they really make an effort to get to know you as an individual inside and outside the classroom. The connections you build with your classmates and teachers make Lingfield feel much more than a place you simply come to learn. It feels like a family, there’s no judgment, and everybody is so welcoming to one another. 

Charlie: Lingfield means a lot to me because of the welcoming environment that the school creates for its students. I think it makes a huge difference being able to walk into school every morning and have teachers engage with you, smile and make you feel comfortable, as it creates an environment where students feel valued and supported. My favourite part of Lingfield has definitely been the sport, as it has provided me with so many opportunities that have helped me grow as both a person and an athlete.

Bella: I would love to support the younger students and create an even more interconnected environment between year groups, whether that be through sport, music, clubs, or even just being a friendly face for anyone who wants a chat. I’d also really like to encourage more leadership amongst the younger years and help them to make the most of all the opportunities that Lingfield has to offer.

Will: This year, I would like to make sure the Head Student Team is approachable and genuinely useful to students. I hope to create more opportunities for students to share their ideas and feel that their opinions are listened to, while also helping to strengthen communication between students and staff. I'm also keen to share my own ideas and opinions for the school and leave a lasting impact beyond just my final year.

Natasha: In the upcoming year I would really like to create more integration between the year groups, particularly by developing a stronger connection between the older and younger students. I think it would be beneficial for both the older and the younger students if there was less of a divide. The younger students could have someone to look up to, get advice from and learn from whilst the older students can improve their leadership and mentoring skills. 

Charlie: The main objective I would like to achieve as a Head Student is to help integrate the different year groups more and create a stronger sense of community throughout the school. I think there are lots of opportunities for older and younger students to learn from each other, whether that is through educational activities, school events or sport, and I would like to help create more of these opportunities.
