Students Celebrate Sporting Achievements at Awards Dinner

This week, we celebrated sporting achievements at our Annual Sports Awards Dinner.

There have been some outstanding performances in football, hockey, netball, cricket, rugby, athletics, basketball, swimming, equestrian and golf. The dedication, hard work and sportsmanship displayed by all the players and coaches have been exemplary.

With over 800 fixtures, exceptional participation rates and an extensive coaching and club programme, sport continues to be one of the defining strengths of Lingfield College.

Highlights

Our teams qualified for seven national finals across three different sports, reflecting the quality of coaching, pupils' commitment, and the breadth of talent across the school.

Football: ESFA National Finals with the U15 Girls, who became National Champions, and the U14 Boys, who reached the National Finals at Stoke.

Sisters in Sport National Finals – U13 Girls and U14 Girls.

Rugby Sevens: U13 Boys National Finals.

Hockey: U13 Girls National Finals and U16 Boys National Finals.

Team of the Year

As well as individual awards for best players and most improved players in each age group, the overall team award was presented to the U15 Girls' Football Team in recognition of their outstanding year of football. Throughout the year, they consistently demonstrated skill, determination, teamwork and sportsmanship, achieving impressive results and representing Lingfield College with pride both on and off the pitch. You can read more about them here.

Congratulations to all the award winners, and thank you to everyone who supported and contributed to this fantastic year of sports.
