Prep School Celebrate Great Big Green Week 2026

This month, our school proudly took part in Great Big Green Week 2026, a nationwide celebration where over one million people joined together from 6 to 14 June to take positive action for their communities, nature and the climate.
To mark the occasion, the Eco Warriors got creative with a range of eco-friendly activities, upcycling an old hanging basket and reusing a plastic plate to create a bird bath, providing a welcoming place for local wildlife to visit and stay hydrated.
They also made "Wildflower Whizzers". Using recycled papier-mâché mixed with wildflower seeds, they carefully pressed the mixture into silicone moulds. Once planted, these seed-filled creations will help bring beautiful wildflowers to gardens and outdoor spaces, creating colourful displays and valuable habitats for bees, butterflies and other pollinators.

For the last Eco meeting of the year, the children chose to do some pond dipping in our school pond, spotting water snails, boatmen and even a few small fish. As it was a hot day, they couldn’t resist finishing by dipping their toes in!
