Academic Scholars Celebrated at Annual Symposium
As part of our ongoing commitment to stretch and challenge our most able pupils, all Academic Scholars in Years 7-10 undertake an extended project qualification, and this week, we were delighted to host our annual Scholars’ Symposium to celebrate their achievements.
This year's theme - Leadership
This year’s theme was leadership, a quality our scholars demonstrated throughout their challenging essay and project qualifications.
Whether through an essay or an artefact, the project encourages pupils to pursue a topic they are passionate about and to develop key skills such as independent research, time management, evaluation, and critical thinking.
The standard of work was exceptional. Essays explored a remarkable range of topics, from zoochosis and animal welfare to the fascinating world of subatomic particles. We congratulate all of our scholars, whose curiosity, dedication and academic ambition were evident throughout the evening. A special mention to Hector in year 8, who completed the higher project qualification award usually undertaken by students in year 10.
This year's scholars have produced work of an exceptionally high standard, demonstrating impressive sophistication in their choice of topics and a consistently articulate, thoughtful depth of analysis throughout.

Overall Academic Scholar Award
Congratulations to Arhaan in Year 7, who was awarded the Overall Academic Scholar Award for his essay "How is deforestation affecting the environment and ecosystems?"
This prestigious prize recognises excellence in both the written essay and a presentation to a judging panel.
