Year 5 Experience Senior School
Today we welcomed our Year 5 pupils to Senior School to find out 'What it's like at Senior School'. One of the benefits of joining an all-through school is a gentler transition into senior school. A transition event helps familiarise students with the staff and buildings through fun activities.
First Class Falconry
Pupils were welcomed by Head of Year 7, Mr Loveday, and taken to the dining hall for lunch. After lunch, there was a fascinating talk from Alan at First Class Falconry, learning about his beautiful owls Cody, Molly and Elmo. They were also joined by Headmaster Mr Bool to watch the display.
Science is Magic
Pupils were welcomed to the science lab, where they took part in an interactive session called Science is Magic.
To start with, they watched Head of Science Mr Grant perform the elephant toothpaste experiment and a fire display. They then made their own chemical reactions with invisible ink and made ice cream from ice and salt to taste.
