Year 11 Students Test Their Skills in Business and Languages Challenge

On Friday, a group of 7 intrepid Year 11s ventured to King Edward's School for the annual Business and Languages Global Challenge.

Students were given a short explanation of what is involved in International Business and Marketing. What made the presentation more impactful was that the organisers were not their usual teachers, but professionals with a wealth of knowledge and experience in Sales, Marketing, and the Pharmaceutical and Technology industries, among others.

The organisation, Business Language Champions, presented students with a lengthy list of tasks they were expected to complete during the day, with strict deadlines.

Our students did not disappoint and rose to the challenge, collaborating with students from other schools and using German, Spanish or French to promote their new range of Jelly Babies to be marketed at an international trade fair.

The pace of activities was certainly frenetic, but they worked enthusiastically, making promotional videos, buying materials in foreign languages and calculating costs swiftly to get the most resources for their euros.

Afterwards, it was impressive to watch them make sales pitches to other groups to promote their new range of sweets.

Congratulations go to all our students who made us very proud, but a special commendation goes to Eleanor who won a prize for being the best telephone negotiator in French!

¡Fantástico! / Fantastisch! / Fantastique !
