Lingfield College Students Celebrate Excellent GCSE Results 2026

There were further celebrations at Lingfield College today as Year 11 students received their GCSE results, marking an important milestone in their school journey and the culmination of years of hard work.

This is a fantastic set of results from a year group who have approached their time at Lingfield with a strong sense of purpose. As their GCSE examinations approached, they showed real focus and commitment, and it is wonderful to see that hard work reflected in their achievements today.

What makes me particularly proud is the way they have balanced that academic commitment with everything else they have contributed to school life. They are a talented, thoughtful and grounded group of young people, and these results are thoroughly deserved.

Headmaster, Richard Bool

Subject Highlights

There were a number of standout subject performances this year.

STEM subjects delivered impressive results, with 67% of grades in Biology and 64% in Physics awarded at the top grades of 9–7, alongside 60% of grades in Mathematics at the same level.

The creative arts also celebrated exceptional success, with every Music student achieving the top grades of 9–7, while more than two-thirds of grades awarded in Art were at the same level.

Student Success

Beyond their academic studies, Lingfield students have continued to pursue their individual interests and talents through a wide range of opportunities and activities.

Among those celebrating today is Academic and Drama Scholar Aryan, who achieved an outstanding set of results, including two grade 9s and seven grade 8s, one grade 7 and a B in Additional Mathematics. Alongside his academic studies, Aryan has been an active member of Lingfield’s Model United Nations programme, developing his skills in debating, diplomacy and public speaking.

Aryan said: “I am over the moon with my results today, I am really overjoyed! My results are really important to me as I put a lot of hard work and dedication into my studies. Mr Hayes, my Chemistry teacher, has really inspired me and allowed me to see the beauty of Chemistry, a subject I will be doing at A Level in the Sixth Form.

Aryan will continue at Lingfield Sixth Form in September, where he plans to study A Level Maths, Chemistry and Biology

Academic and Drama Scholar Sam is also celebrating an exceptional set of GCSE results, achieving six grade 9s, three grade 8s and one grade 7. A familiar face on the Lingfield stage, Sam has performed in numerous School productions throughout his time here, successfully balancing the demands of rehearsals and performances with his academic studies.

Sam said, “Being in the Drama Department has been a real highlight of my time at Lingfield. Being in the drama productions, whilst completing Lamda has also been an amazing experience for me. The department has really felt like a supportive community.”

Sam looks forward to his future studying A Level Psychology, History, Drama and English Literature.

Milly, who has been at Lingfield since Nursery, is celebrating an excellent set of results with three grade 9s, five grade 8s and two grade 7s. During her time in the Senior School Milly has been a key hockey player making appearances for the U16A and Second Team.

Milly said, "I am so thrilled with my grade 9 in History, as I am taking the subject for A Levels. I am really grateful to Mrs Pepler, my Drama teacher, who was extremely helpful in running extra revision sessions for us, providing us with the confidence we needed to go into our exam."

Milly is excited to study English Literature, Art and History at Lingfield Sixth Form in September.

Further congratulations are extended to Katie, who is also a keen sports player alongside Milly and is celebrating achieving two grade 9s, two grade 8s, four grade 7s and two grade 6s. Katie has particularly enjoyed playing Hockey, Football and Netball at a high level during her time in the Senior School and looks forward to the opportunity to continue competing in the Sixth Form.

Katie said, "I am most proud of my Geography and PE grades, both getting 9’s, as I am taking those subjects for my A Levels as well as Economics, as I have never done as well as this before. The biggest lesson I have learnt is to just try your hardest. If you don‘t get the result you want keep trying."

Katie will join our Lingfield Sixth Form in September to study PE, Geography and Business.

What a fantastic day for our Year 11 students. We’re so proud of everything they have achieved and there are so many exciting next steps ahead.  I wish every one of them the very best and I’m really looking forward to welcoming the majority of them into our Sixth Form in September and getting to know them as they begin this next chapter.

New Head of Sixth Form, Christina McCarrick

As our Year 11 students take their next steps into Sixth Form and beyond, we congratulate each of them on their achievements and look forward to the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.
