Lingfield BTEC students head to Croydon Court
A fascinating day witnessing different legal cases
As part of Business BTEC, students study different aspects of the law, and this week, Year 13 students travelled to Croydon Crown Court to see how the British Legal system works in real life. They saw several interesting cases, including short sentencing and day two of a criminal law case. This experience meant the students could listen to witnesses giving evidence in the stand and hear both sides of the witnesses’ statements to see how they linked up with each other and how they didn’t.
It was very surreal seeing the court in person compared with what you see on TV – safe to say it's quite different.
