Lingfield launches new Year 5 Early Offer Pathway
Lingfield College has introduced a new Year 5 Early Offer Pathway for children seeking a Year 7 place in September 2028.
Called Lingfield Ahead, the pathway gives families who are ready to choose their child's Senior School earlier the opportunity to apply during Year 5. It will run alongside Lingfield's standard Year 6 admissions route, allowing families to choose the timescale that suits them.
Candidates will visit Lingfield for an age-appropriate assessment in English, Mathematics and Reasoning on Friday 12 February 2027. The School will also request a reference from each child's current school. Successful candidates will receive an offer on Friday 5 March and will have until Friday 14 May to accept.
Children who receive an offer will also be invited to Lingfield's Year 5 Experience Day on Tuesday 4 May. Through lessons and activities, they will meet staff and other pupils and begin to become familiar with Senior School before their formal transition begins.
Richard Bool, Headmaster at Lingfield College, said: “Choosing a Senior School is an important decision, and every family will reach it in their own time. For those who already feel that Lingfield is the right place for their child, the Year 5 Early Offer Pathway offers the chance to make that decision earlier. It also gives children more time to get to know us, build friendships and look forward to starting Year 7 with confidence.”
The pathway is intended for families who already regard Lingfield as a preferred choice. Those who want longer to visit and compare schools can continue to apply through the usual Year 6 process.

Yes. Lingfield Ahead allows children in Year 5 to apply for a Year 7 place for September 2028. The standard Year 6 admissions route also remains available.
