Lingfield College Celebrates 10 Years of Rock and Jazz Night

This weekend we celebrated 10 years of our Rock and Jazz Night. Since the first performance in 2016, Rock and Jazz has become a much-loved evening where students demonstrate creativity and musical talent in their own bands. 

Supported by our music teachers and peripatetic music staff, senior and sixth form students performed over two nights to sell-out audiences of staff, parents and musical alumni.

Bands and Performances

Live From Mercury, Lunar Static and Lost Phantoms, Crystal Clear, The Wings, Tornado, The Rock Dogs, Perfect Mystery, On The Edge and Electric Guitar Group performed hits from Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Oasis, Muse and Kelly Clarkson to name but a few.

Lingfield Jazz Band also performed several numbers and finishing the evening with a taste of the '70s, The Brack Attacks' 2026 performance was a fun disco medley.

Rock & Jazz Night truly captured the spirit of Lingfield College. It was an incredible sight to see students, parents, families, and friends all coming together-dancing and singing along to our many talented student rock bands. The music students put in a tremendous amount of effort, and they should be immensely proud of the high standard they achieved. Songs for 2027 are already being chosen!

Farewell

This was the last Rock Night for our Year 13 Supergroup. Thank you, Verity, Jess, Charlie, Amy, Amelia, Freddie, Rihanna, Hayden and Ollie, who have all made huge contributions to Musical performances during their time at Lingfield College. You will be missed!
