Our well-established Nursery is joined to our Reception classrooms, thus being a bright and spacious, stimulating space where the Nursery children excitedly progress through the Foundation Stage in readiness to move on to Year One, which is only a hop, skip and a jump away across the other side of the playground.
All the Foundation Stage classrooms are linked together, which creates a cosy, family atmosphere and a supportive community. The Senior School is only a two minute walk away on the other side of the railway track. This means that there is a consistent approach to learning where the two parts of the school follow the same ethos for nurturing individual talents, realising individual potential and celebrating achievements. There are, therefore, siblings throughout all parts of the school making this a happy family environment. Families form enduring and trusting relationships throughout their child's journey from two and a half until eighteen years old.
Our Foundation Stage, which is comprised of Nursery and Reception, provides a happy and stimulating start to school life. Children are given opportunities to develop skills, confidence, independence, self-esteem and a positive attitude to learning through a variety of well-planned and structured activities, as well as time to play. They are introduced to the full curriculum and have access to the school's extensive facilities. This stage provides both a sound foundation and effective transition to the more formal learning in Key Stage 1.
