Curriculum

All parents receive individual planning for their child throughout the year. Children learn through their interests, through play and through adult-led planned activities. This motivates children to think critically and increases confidence and allows them to exhibit highly developed social skills.

Our recent ISI inspectors said, “Most children achieve and many exceed the Early Learning Goals by the age of 5". Each week children in the Foundation Stage, also have the opportunity to take part in PE activities in our large Sports Hall and French and Music with specialist teachers. Reception also have a discrete Drama Lesson and each week visit the Library and well-equipped ICT suite.

There are other special events in our calendar, such as the not-to-be-missed Nativities and the fun Sports Day on our Orchard. “The children look forward to exciting day trips such as the local nature reserve, Drusillas Zoo and Ladyland Farm.”

When visitors and workshops come to the school, the Foundation Stage children are often invited to join in. There are various options for extended day care, such as our Breakfast Club, TeaRex after school club and Holiday Club. Children in Nursery and Reception also have the opportunity to sign up to various clubs at lunchtime and after school, such as Ballet and Ball Skills.
