Forest School

Our Forest School aspirations

The philosophy of Forest School is to encourage and inspire children through positive outdoor experiences.

Our Forest School activities will be planned to meet the needs of children throughout the Foundation Stage, from Nursery to Reception. We aim to provide your child with regular opportunities to develop skills across the EYFS in a safe outdoor environment, with hands-on experiences to promote their Characteristics of Effective Learning: Playing and Exploring, Active Learning and Creating and Thinking Critically.

As well as developing these important themes of their learning, we also aim to provide opportunities to develop fine and gross motor skills. Whilst accessing the Forest School environment, children will begin to develop useful skills and awareness of nature, increase their motivation and learn alternative attitudes and improve their ability to work together and develop team work skills.

Our Forest School Staff

Forest School sessions are lead by our Forest School Leader Mrs Bowler, who is Level 3 trained, or by our experienced Forest School staff.
