About Us

The Sixth Form at Lingfield creates a supportive bridge for our students between Senior School and their independent lives ahead.

Our Sixth Form Centre offers a modern and dynamic environment, featuring a central atrium, a 150-seater university-style lecture theatre, dedicated teaching rooms, an Apple media suite, a barista-style coffee shop, contemporary common room and quiet study areas. The Centre was specifically designed to complement the School's existing facilities while giving our students more independence, status and technologically advanced facilities.

The strong tutorial system in the Sixth Form closely supports students with both their studies and their personal development. We look after them, we want them to do well but in order to do this we must make sure they are well. We monitor them closely and offer an array of strategies to help them if they are struggling and to enable them to achieve the highest possible grades. It is a privilege to watch our students become articulate, well-educated young adults.

Our Sixth Form students are role models. They are encouraged to contribute fully to school life, through activities such as supporting younger students, being subject leaders, charity co-ordinators or volunteering in the local community.

The ways in which students can extend their academic experience are numerous and varied, with many initiatives in place, such as the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and the Discursive Writing Competition.

However good their final results are, A Levels and BTECs are no longer enough. To achieve their post-18 plans, students must demonstrate a range of interests, achievements and interpersonal skills. The Sixth Form offers a diversity of experiences that are fun, stimulating and useful and which equips them for the challenges ahead.

We look forward to welcoming you to Sixth Form.
