Year 6 visit Parliament and Churchill's War Rooms

On Tuesday 31st of October Year 6 had a fun day out at the Houses of Parliament and Churchill’s War Rooms. After arriving at Lingfield Station at 8:00am, it was a fun journey on the train to London. We then had to walk all the way from Victoria Station to the Houses of Parliament!

We got an amazing tour of Parliament but we couldn't believe how much security there was! We went into the House of Lords and saw where the Queen sits during a debate. We couldn’t see into the House of Commons as they were about to have a debate. We actually met people who work for Sam Gyimah (East Surrey’s M.P)!  After that amazing experience, we visited Winston Churchill’s War Rooms Museum. We had an awesome introduction and got given audio guides instead of a tour guide. Finally it was time to get the train home. What a great day out!
