Year 3 visit Wakehurst Place
Despite the torrential rain, the children in Year 3 enjoyed a fantastic day at Wakehurst Place last week. They examined a range of seeds, some giant-sized, some minute, in the lab, used a microscope to examine them closely and also dissected germinating seeds. They discovered the ways in which seeds are dispersed in a seed trail and looked at some of the amazing trees at Wakehurst. Their creativity was set free during an ephemeral art activity using natural materials found at Wakehurst Place to create their own flowering plant with its unique seed and dispersal system.
Our thanks to the Year 3 parent helpers who joined us for the day!
