Prep School Head Boy/Head Girl Team

The School has decided to introduce the roles of Head Boy and Head Girl and their Deputies for the Prep School in the 2017-18 Academic Year.  I am delighted to announce that following a challenging two-stage application and interview process, which saw applications from 22 Prep School children, Nathan and Daisy  will be our inaugural Head Boy and Head Girl of the Prep School, with Alice and Ben taking on the roles of our first Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl.

All the children who applied were asked to complete a first round of interviews with Mrs Bannon and Dr Margrett, after which eight candidates were shortlisted and asked to give a presentation to myself and Mr Bool concerning why they wanted the role and outlining their suggestions as to how the role could be developed.  We were exceptionally impressed by the quality of the children’s applications at every stage.  The candidates were amazingly articulate and had many excellent ideas.

The competition was exceptionally fierce and we are delighted that we are helping to develop so many confident, self-assured and charming boys and girls.  Presenting in front of us at aged 10 was no doubt daunting and something we ourselves would have found very challenging at their age.

We would like to thank all the children who put themselves forward for the time effort they put into their applications and presentations. We want to assure those children who were unsuccessful that there are many roles and responsibilities available to pupils in Year 6 and that they will all have their individual moment to shine.  Given the talent that the children have already displayed, we know that all of the positions of responsibility will be in very safe hands.
