Mental Health Awareness Week 2019

Lingfield College’s aim is to prepare their students for life post-education, and to have a clear understanding of our own and other people's mental health is a vital part of that.  Students across both the Prep and Senior Schools have been participating in a range of activities concentrating on breaking the stigma of mental health. The School is mindful of the importance of positive mental health for the well-being of the whole school community, and has made it a high profile event in its annual calendar.

Students and staff have been encouraged to participate in a range of activities and had a full programme of relaxing events to choose from. These included films, a silent disco, Zumba, a zoo experience and potting plants for St Catherine's Hospice.

Children in the Prep School learnt about how to be confident in their own bodies, that we are all unique and that this should be celebrated. Also in the prep School children could participate in a Yoga session to promote positive mental health. The children loved learning the different Yoga positions and enjoyed relaxing to some beautiful music.
