IEA Economics Conference at Ardingly College

Last week, Y12 & Y13 Economics students attended a conference at Ardingly College. They listened to various speakers who talked them through various topics which included the sharing economy, quantitative easing and Pigouvian taxes. Each talk widened their knowledge beyond the A Level course and allowed them to further develop their economic understanding. All students were keen to participate when they were asked to give their input on these topics and they enjoyed hearing the different ideas.

In addition to the economics topics, there was a careers talk to demonstrate that there were multiple routes into an economics career. Overall it was a very interesting evening and it is safe to say that every student learned something that was beneficial to them to aid their progress in economics.
