East Grinstead Schools' Cross Country Race

On Sunday 13th October, we once again competed in the annual East Grinstead and District Schools’ Cross Country Races. The event organisers had decided to change the routing of the course for this year due to boggy and slippery conditions in certain areas of the usual route. The amended course was still run over the same 2400m distance.

Primary Schools' Race

Girls and boys both finish second

Our girls’ team displayed resilience and ran with great determination in the first race of over 80 competitors. All of our 9 athletes finished inside the top 34 positions and their superb team performance resulted in the girls taking 2nd place medals in the team event with Poppie winning an individual trophy for her 5th place position.

In the next race, our boys’ team set off at a fast pace and every runner battled to keep up with the leading pack. The boys were also delighted to receive their 2nd place medals in the team event, with Charlie also winning an individual trophy for finishing in 2nd place in the race.

Many congratulations to all our athletes who took part in the races and contributed to both our teams’ success.
